According to press rumours U2, Coldplay and Beyoncé will be headlining the Pyramid stage at this year’s Glastonbury festival.
What do you think? Could Beyoncé be just as unpopular as Jay-Z back in 2008?
Personally I’m a little disappointed, if these rumours are to be believed. But they have yet to be confirmed on Glastonbury’s official website. (http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/ )
BBC Radio One’s Zane Lowe said: “Beyoncé will rock it to the moon and back”.
NME blogger Luke Lewis said: “Beyoncé will provide some much needed glitz.”
Glitz and a few anthems, yes, but can you really compare her to Foo Fighters, Abba or Prince who were all previously rumoured for the headlining slot.
And as for U2 and Coldplay- yes they are both considered as legendary bands. However once the big hits have played don’t you think that the remaining hour could be pretty dreary?
Think Stevie Wonder, then think Beyoncé. I know which I’d rather be joining on Worthy Farm this summer.
Nonetheless, with more than 23 stages, there’s got to be something for everyone at Glastonbury this summer.
I reckon we’ll be in for a bit of Adele with a dash of James Blake and Florence Welch, with some Jessie J on the side.
Glastonbury Festival takes place from the 22nd to 26th June 2011 at Worthy Farm, Pilton.
